Below you can find equipment requirements for our virtual labs. Adequate and properly sharpened equipment is critical for lab learning as well as performing procedures. We encourage you to be well prepared and if necessary consider purchasing our extraction kit.

Specimens
Our VDS Courses no longer require specimens; however, you can opt to purchase and have one shipped to you after registering for a course. For the bundles, the specimen can be used for the entire set of labs, saving you money. If you prefer, you can take the courses individually.
Should you choose to purchase a specimen then here is the recommended equipment list:
Basic Periodontal Therapy- Specific
- Periodontal probe/explorer
- Scaler
- Gracey curettes (1/2, 7/8, 13/14)
- Arkansas stone, sharpening oil
- Ultrasonic scaler/polisher

Dental Radiology and Radiology Interpretation Lab - Specific
- Dental Radiology Imaging Equipment
- Dental Radiology Book (Optional and available from our online bookstore.)
Basic and Advanced Extractions- Specific
- 1, 2, 3, 4 mm luxating elevators
- Periosteal elevator
- Thumb forceps
- Small breed extraction forceps
- Needle holder
- 699, 701, 702 burs flame-shaped coarse diamond burs
- #15 scalpal blades
- Suture (3/0 to 5/0) with a swedged on needle.
